Youth Counselling

For ages 12—Above

It can be challenging for both parents, caregivers and youth themsevles during stage of puberty, and somewhat find it hard to manage.

The stress may look like:

  • feeling not good enough and striving for perfectionlism

  • anxiety, anger and aggression

  • peer influence

  • low self-esteem and self-worth

  • patterns of self-sacrifice / people pleasing

  • trying too hard to fit in

  • social isolation

  • spending hours on mobile games or screen time

  • having "secret" from adults

These behaviours can sometimes mask deeper emotional needs that feel too difficult to express or face directly.

Changes You May See After Counselling:

  • Increase emotional and behavioral awareness

  • Slow down and feeling more grounded in the face of stress from academic achievement, peer relationships, school / family expectations, and adaption in relation to ADHD and autism.

How it works?

Youth counselling offers a “pause” where they can slow down, reflect what is happening within themselves, and build emotional self-awareness without judgment or pressure to quickly fix anything.

Parent support sessions, held without the child present when needed, may also be offered to explore home-based strategies and strengthen understanding of your child’s emotional and behavioural needs.
